<They say you never go wrong with a Little Black Dress, but then it didn’t feel right to me. >
The white embroidered lace gown will do just fine, i said to myself. I paced to and fro wondering why the theme of the dinner had to be "The Little Black Dress".
While growing up, I’ve never liked having a full black dress on, it never made me feel good or confident. I’ve tried blending in with the ideology of it, but it has never worked out for me. I snapped out of my thoughts and picked the white gown from my closet, dressed up and left for the party.
I had barely even walked to the center of the hall when I noticed the stare from the strange faces and the chatters that followed.

  Style is original, it’s something we all have, it’s a possession, it’s about an individual’s attitude and self-expression. Style is a natural birth from within.

  Trend on the other hand can’t be owned by just one person, it’s like a path anyone is allowed to freely walk through by choice, and like the dictionary definition, it’s an inclination in a particular direction.

  The short piece about the Little Black Dress is an illustration of style and trend. The theme of the party is the trend, the people at the party are the trend adopters, and the lady in white has a style that opposes the trend naturally. Even with the full awareness of the trend, she chose her preferred style over it.
 Adoption is by choice, so be sure to adopt trends that goes in line with your preferred style, don’t try to fit into a trend that disturbs your style comfort, and don’t try to impress anyone by adopting a trend. Stay different if you have to, embrace it and walk with you head up high not minding the chatters from around. Let your style elegantly stand you out from that trending crowd, and when they stare, make it worth their while!
 Style is like a character, there are good and bad characters. And just like how a person can get influenced by his/her environment, likewise style too. The different environment we find ourselves in influences our style a lot whether good or bad, we have the tendency to birth new styles in relation to the environment we find ourselves in. It’s why a student when in the university tries to define a new style different from when he/she was in high school, it’s why a working class person steps up his/her dressing style from the student-like type. It’s also why a person who relocates to a foreign country births a new style that relates with the environment. Styles are dynamic, so don’t be scared to take up new ones and also drop when you wish to.
  For you to fit perfectly into a trend, knowing your style is very important. It’s worth doing well, so do not take it with laxity. Like a lost person trying to find and discover himself, FIND YOUR STYLE. Like a person with a good character, STICK TO YOUR STYLE AND DON’T CHANGE IT FOR ANYONE. Like a person with a bad character, DROP THE BAD STYLE, AND PICK UP A GOOD ONE. Like a person trying to improve positively, STEP UP YOUR STYLE GAME, AND BE THE BEST. Like a lion, BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR STYLE AND NEVER GET INTIMIDATED. Like the feathers of a peacock, HAVE A BEAUTIFUL STYLE.

Your style is like soul food, and a trend is like eye candy…….be more of soul food, but Learn to blend the both well.
